The essence of the process of electric desalting of oil on EDG is its water washing by mixing heated oil with fresh water, followed by the destruction of the oil-water emulsion formed in this process and the separation of water from oil. The effectiveness of oil desalination and dehydration can reduce the corrosion of technological equipment and pipelines, improve the quality of the products.
The destruction of the emulsion and the separation of water is carried out in special apparatuses, where, under the influence of an alternating electric field of high tension, temperature and a demulsifier introduced into the oil, small droplets of water dispersed in the oil coalesce into larger droplets, which, by gravity, settle down. Settled water with salts dissolved in it is discharged from the lower part of the electric dehydrator, and dehydrated oil from the upper part.
The platform of electric dehydrators of the deep oil dehydration and desalination unit consists of a crude oil mixer with washing water, electric dehydrators with explosion-proof high-voltage power supplies, with anti-corrosion coating, thermal insulation, a complete set of anti-corrosion protection equipment, piping and instrumentation, high voltage input devices, fluoroplastic insulated walk-throughs, and suspension system, automation and control systems, service platforms and stairs, cable overpass, etc.
Design and manufacture of EDG is carried out taking into account the performance of the oil emulsion at the entrance to one unit, the characteristics of crude oil, operating conditions and individual customer requirements.
